Bestform 2025 – Exhibition design

The year 2025 marks two special highlights in Bern’s design landscape: the Bern Design Foundation is celebrating its 30th anniversary and the Bern Design Prize is being awarded for the eleventh time. A double reason to celebrate and an invitation to present design at its best.

For the BESTFORM 2025 exhibition (28.3.–27.4.2025), designer Lisa Ochsenbein has developed a modular exhibition concept that combines sustainability and innovation. The exhibition furniture is made of nature-based materials: 3D-printed clay bricks, panels made of flax, glass holders made of 3D-printed waste wood and linoleum surfaces for presenting the works. Everything follows the principle of circularity, leaves minimal traces in nature and makes a powerful statement for sustainable design.

We at Bienvenue Studios took this concept for the exhibition graphics and translated it into a visual language that celebrates the themes of growth, transformation and sustainability. The graphic unfolds like a blossom: slowly, vividly and with a dynamism reminiscent of fireworks, solemnly emphasizing the anniversary. The design plays with plant forms, a subtle 3D effect and a tripartite composition that is reflected in the exhibition elements. Part of this is also the negative of the stencils made from the exhibition’s natural materials – a subtle interplay of abstraction and organic movement.

The result is a harmonious overall picture in which concept, material and graphics combine seamlessly – a strong statement for sustainable design.
