Pacific Marks

Astonishing, these sculptures are the work of shells that have drilled into the rock. The perfect holes are the proof of their masterpiece. Often you can find such rocks with holes on the beach, whose inhabitants have already moved on. When trying to remove the empty shells, one must be careful, as the stones are very fragile and can shatter even at low pressure. These stones are characteristically light. This lightness also inspired us in our graphic interpretation: The stones seem to float above the paper! The shells, which are responsible for these small sculptures, we thematize in our series “Pacific Settler“.
