Concept and design of a poster series for the performance “The Conditional World”, a master’s thesis at the Accademia Teatro Dimitri.

The conditional world – without things there is no world. Thematically, the play explores the relationship between cause and effect of things. All events are interrelated and inevitable. They change or transform conditionally.

As inspiration for this poster series, we examined the structure of mandalas. A mandala is square or round and always oriented towards a center point. In Buddhism, mandalas embody the entire universe with heaven, earth and the underworld. Due to the central importance of the Four Noble Truths for Buddhism, almost all mandalas start from the number four and form multiples of it towards the edge. Mandalas serve as visual aids, in order to be able to internalize complex connections through the representation of gods, landscapes or signs.
