«Nonghao», an authentic view of Shanghai

“Nonghao” opens up a new, authentic view of Shanghai, which is known in China as a magical city, away from all postcard perspectives. Snapshots of the workers in this metropolis of millions reveal what this magic is all about. The photos were requested by us via social media platforms. Three statistics are graphically presented between the picture series, showing the city’s development from 2000 to 2010. The infographic at the end of the book reveals how the pictures came to us. The word “Nonghao” is how Shanghainese people greet each other every day, translated it means Hello.
